Thank you for starting the registration process for Classroom Connections by paying for one week of tuition. We typically require one to two weeks to move through all the registration process before a child can actually start. During this transition time, you will be receiving an email to complete an online student profile in SchoolDoc.com that will include information such as people authorized to pick up your child and medical information. Before your child can start, you’re child’s profile must be complete with the exception of the fall 2020 flu shot which can be completed any time before 12/31/2020. Please note, children who will have medication at the program or who have chronic medical conditions will need to have forms completed and signed by their pediatrician uploaded into their profile.
The MetroWest YMCA designed Classroom Connections, licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), to provide supplemental learning that aligns with the schools’ education plans while also supporting out-of-school time needs of families. This program serves as an educational and care solution for children to attend on their non-school, remote-learning days.
The program combines digital learning with the trusted quality of care for children from kindergarten through 7th grade. This program serve the faculty and staff of Wayland Public Schools as well as Wayland Public School students. It will take place our virtual learning support center located at the Trinitarian Congregational Church located at 53 Cochituate Road in Wayland. Children will remain in small and stable groups facilitated by experienced Y staff who will help children develop study habits, strengthen SEL and 21st century skills, as well as give students opportunities to spend significant time outside learning, being active and exploring their creativity.
As part of our collective efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we will place children in small groups (cohorts) based on their weekly schedules. Families can register for 5 days per week, Mon/Tues with optional Wed, or Thurs/Fri with optional Wed. Families cannot register for only Wednesdays. For families who are still waiting for confirmation of their children's cohort should register for one of the cohort options and notify the Y as quickly as possible when the cohort schedule has been finalized. Families will be charged a $30 non-refundable 2020-2021 school year registration fee for each child. In addition, families with children who have not attended our Early Learning Center or School's Out sites in the past will also be charged a one-time $30 enrollment fee for each child.
Tuition paid upon registration will be applied to the first week of their participation in the program. Families will be billed weekly.
The program will operate from 7:15AM-3:45PM.
